皆様こんにちは。[東京国際歯科 六本木]診療部チームのMasaです。先日、東京国際歯科 六本木（EPSDC）が主催する診断学セミナーに参加してきました。セミナーのテーマは「歯原性疼痛の診断」で、歯が原因で痛みが生じた場合に、どのように診断を進めていくかというものでした。

なぜ正確な診断が重要なのか (そして、なぜそれが難しいのか)

診断は歯科医療において非常に重要ですが、同時に非常に複雑です。誤った診断は、取り返しのつかない結果につながる可能性があります。たとえば、痛みの原因が実は歯茎の炎症で、正しい歯磨きで治るはずだったのに、誤った診断に基づいて歯の神経を取ってしまうようなケースです。歯の神経を取ってしまった場合、現代の医療技術では完全に元に戻すことはできません。

私の学び：宮下式レントゲン読影法と全体像を見ること

セミナーでは、正確な診断を行うための貴重なテクニックを学びました。特に感銘を受けたのは、宮下（東京国際歯科 六本木の院長）式レントゲン写真の読影法です。詳細については、セミナーに参加していただくのが一番ですが、この方法によって、レントゲン写真から得られる情報量が大幅に増えました。物事を俯瞰的に、全体像を見るという視点の重要性を改めて認識しました。一般歯科医のかた是非、診断学セミナーにご参加ください！

I recently attended a fascinating Diagnostic Seminar hosted by Tokyo International Dental Roppongi (EPSDC: Endo-Perio Specialist Dental Clinic), focusing on the diagnosis of odontogenic pain – the process of identifying the source when tooth-related issues cause pain.

Why Accurate Diagnosis Matters (and Why It’s So Challenging)

Diagnosis is absolutely critical in dentistry, but it’s also incredibly complex. An incorrect diagnosis can lead to irreversible consequences. Imagine, for example, treating a tooth with a root canal when the pain was actually caused by a simple gum inflammation that could have been resolved with improved brushing habits. The reality is, once a tooth’s nerve is removed, modern medical technology cannot fully restore it.

My Takeaway: The Miyashita Method and Seeing the Bigger Picture

At the seminar, I learned valuable techniques for achieving accurate diagnoses. What particularly resonated with me was the Miyashita (A director dentist at Tokyo International Dental Clinic)-style method of interpreting X-rays. While I won’t delve into the specifics here (the seminar is the best way to truly grasp it!), this method has significantly expanded the amount of information I can glean from a radiograph. It reinforced the importance of taking a holistic, “bird’s eye” view of each patient’s unique situation.
