Tokyo International Dental Clinic Roppongi — Zirconia Ceramic & Metal-Free Restorations by Dr. Hiroshi Miyashita

ジルコニア セラミック クラウン
I am the director of Tokyo International Dental Clinic Roppongi. My name is Hiroshi Miyashita. I studied crown and bridge techniques 35 years ago under Dr. Junhei Fujimoto, a prosthodontist in the United States, and learned direct restoration techniques 22 years ago from Dr. Emilson at the University of Gothenburg. Since then, I have dedicated myself to maintaining the oral health and aesthetics of many patients.
Experience: 35 years of clinical practice, direct mentorship from renowned specialists, and a large number of treated patients.
Expertise: Mastery of crown techniques learned from a prosthodontist, advanced training in direct restorations at the University of Gothenburg, and deep knowledge of zirconia ceramics.
Authoritativeness: Consideration for metal allergies, treatment plans focused on long-term oral health, and personalized material selection for each patient.
Trustworthiness: Serving as Director of Tokyo International Dental Clinic Roppongi with extensive experience and expertise in aesthetic dentistry.
We understand patients’ concerns such as “I feel embarrassed because silver fillings stand out,” “I am worried about staining from coffee or smoking,” and “I might have a metal allergy.” For patients with these concerns, we offer metal-free ceramic restorations. We carefully listen to each patient’s lifestyle and preferences to provide safe, aesthetic, and optimal treatments.
What is ceramic treatment?
Ceramic treatment restores teeth using tooth-colored ceramic inlays, onlays, and crowns. Unlike insurance-covered metal fillings, ceramic restorations offer the following benefits:
- Natural-looking whiteness: Translucent, harmonizes with surrounding teeth, and restores a natural smile.
- Resistance to plaque: Smooth surfaces reduce plaque accumulation and lower the risk of decay.
- Stain resistance: Less prone to discoloration over time, maintaining aesthetics for longer.
- Suitable for metal-allergy patients: Completely metal-free options are available for those concerned about metal allergies.
Recommended material: zirconia ceramic
We primarily use zirconia ceramic for its excellent balance of aesthetics and durability. Zirconia is very strong, resistant to chipping, and less likely to discolor. Based on decades of clinical experience, we believe zirconia ceramic provides the most stable long-term results. Other ceramic materials are available upon patient request. We select the optimal material by considering oral condition, occlusion, and aesthetic needs.
Who is a good candidate?
- Those bothered by noticeable silver fillings
- Those who want naturally white teeth
- Those concerned about discoloration of resin (composite) fillings
- Those seeking a comprehensive aesthetic improvement combined with whitening
- Those worried about metal allergies
Care built on trust
At our clinic, we value trust with our patients as much as clinical skill. During the initial consultation, we carefully discuss your concerns and preferences, review prior treatments and allergy history, and inquire about daily habits. Based on this information, we propose the best treatment plan. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to consult with us.
